This projector costs $1,499.00 at the canon online store.
The nice people at Canon engineered this ceiling mount for which they charge a modest $549.
They however did not include a picture on their web site when I saw it, so I found one. $549 is a huge head of cabbage for a ceiling mount so I expected somthing you could double as a crows nest with an arm rest ...
When I was 19 I was working at Springfield Spring in a the machine shop making tools for the spring makers to make springs with. By 28 I was leaving the Airforce as a jet engine mechanic. That equipment would be worth that price if it was shipped to you with $500 rebate.
It gets wierder ... I found the same projector available in many places on the tubes and found the lowest price to be about $760, at almost half price! Don't buy from the Canon store because you can find it half price elsewhere, due to Canon's crazy 100% markup, right? Wrong! The cheapest I found that mount was in the link for $429, and thats not half at all. WTF? I wonder if they hall get cocked before setting pricing on the online store.
"LOOK! This basket hanger sure has more value than a pair of pliers, a wire basket from home depot and a coat hanger / zip ties from your closet. Screw the projector, mark this thing WAY up. I mean, just look at it. It's a fine luxury basket hanger! Is there any of that beer left?"

Actually, for all the bizarre messed up gifts there, the evolution play set action figures with the awesomely smug and well dressed Darwin at the end are totally awesome, I *would* like to receive those this year.

This really is some amazing artwork, and the sight design is brilliantly unsettling, I highly recommend you visit it in a dark room with all the lights off and a serial killer watching you from the window.
